September Updates

What a wonderful start to this school year! It has been a pleasure getting to meet all my new (and returning) students these past few weeks. I can already tell it is going to be an awesome 2017-2018 school year!! Reminders -If you haven't already done so, please have your child return the signed copy of the Donors Choose Permission Slip. They were sent home during the first week of school in the information packets from my classroom. We have extra copies in the classroom, and you can download additional copies here. -Please update your email addresses listed in Power School. Email is the easiest way to contact me, and to keep the means of communications opened between school and home for updates on personal matters and grades for students. -Extra Credit for September is due by the end of the school day on Friday October 6. New extra credit will be posted on our class Instagram page on October 1. Helping Out Art Room 100 Please consider donating to and/or sharing ou...

Trash Fashion

Image
Students in grade 6 are starting "Trash Fashion" in art 100 which they will be working on until the end of the year. The students are designing and then creating outfits out of recycled materials. The students are re-purposing items that would normally been thrown away to create them. If anyone is willing to save their “clean” trash for us, I would deeply appreciate it. We are looking for pretty much anything, as long as it is free from food debris. :-) Examples: Plastic Shopping Bags Used Gift Wrap Plastic Table Cloths Plastic Containers from Salad, Spinach, etc Coffee Cups (Styrofoam, Plastic) Milk Jugs Newspapers Random Items (puzzle pieces, cds, fishnet materials)

Progress Reports

Just a friendly reminder that progress report grades close tomorrow, Wednesday May 10. If any work is incomplete or students are not satisfied with their current grade, please make reviews as soon as possible for a revised grade.

Art Show
